Canvas Smart Guides
Overview
Professional alignment guides for UI development. When dragging UI elements (RectTransform) in the Scene view, guides automatically appear showing alignment and spacing.
Toggle via Tools → BEE → Scene View Tools → Canvas Smart Guides
Guide Types
| Guide Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟣 Magenta | Edge alignment (left, right, top, bottom edges match) |
| 🔵 Cyan | Center alignment (horizontal or vertical centers match) |
| 🟠 Orange | Spacing indicators (equal spacing between elements) |
Tip
Smart Guides work just like Photoshop or Figma—if you've used those tools, you'll feel right at home.
How It Works
- Enable Canvas Smart Guides from the menu
- Select a UI element with a RectTransform
- Start dragging the element in Scene view
- Guides appear when near alignment points
- Elements snap to guides automatically
Requirements
- Works only with RectTransform components
- Scene view must be in 2D mode or viewing the Canvas
- Element must be actively being dragged
Note
Smart Guides only appear during active dragging. They disappear as soon as you release the mouse button.
