Quick Start

Get up and running with BEE Tools in under a minute. Here are the essential commands:

Hierarchy Colors

Add visual organization to your scene hierarchy with gradient backgrounds.

Select a GameObject

Click on any GameObject in the Hierarchy window.

Open Color Picker

Hold Alt and click on the GameObject, or right-click and select BEE → Set Color.

Choose Your Color

Select from presets or create a custom gradient. Changes save automatically.

Colors are stored per-scene and persist when you save. They're also version-control friendly.

Important
Performance Monitor only collects data in Play Mode. Click "Start Monitoring" after entering Play Mode.

Select Object

Select any GameObject with a MeshRenderer or SkinnedMeshRenderer component.

Browse the visual list and click to apply. Changes are instant and undoable.

Data Storage

BEE Tools stores customization data in your project's Assets folder. These files are safe to commit to version control.

Tip
Add these files to your version control to share customizations with your team. BEE Tools will automatically merge changes when team members pull updates.

Troubleshooting

Check Feature Toggle

Go to Tools → BEE → Hierarchy Features → Background Colors and ensure it's enabled.

Refresh Database

Try Tools → BEE → BEE Features → Refresh BEE Databases.

Reimport

If issues persist, reimport the BEE Tools package.

No. BEE Tools runs exclusively in the Unity Editor and is completely stripped from builds. There is zero runtime overhead.
